Yugambeh Museum Language & Research Centre

The Yugambeh Museum Language & Research Centre is all about helping the Indigenous community and bridging cultural gaps with their services. The Yugambeh Museum offers a range of services aimed at cultural preservation and community engagement. They provide immersive cultural awareness training sessions and workshops designed to deepen understanding of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and social dynamics. As Traditional Owners, they also facilitate respectful and effective community engagement, ensuring that projects and initiatives are aligned with and respect Indigenous perspectives and values.

Every Monday, the museum opens its doors to Yugambeh descendants for cultural research and connection days, providing an opportunity for individuals to explore their ancestry, heritage, and cultural identity. The Yugambeh Museum is committed to fostering a deeper connection to heritage and culture within the Indigenous community, creating a welcoming space for learning, research, and celebration of Indigenous traditions.

Nyeumba-Meta Space - Logan Central Library

Nyeumba-Meta is a space and collection located at the Logan Central Library. Donated to the Logan City Council Libraries in 1998, the Nyeumba-Meta collection aims to assist in learning about Indigenous customs and history. The collection includes books, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles and artefacts.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane

ATSICHS Brisbane offers a range of health and wellbeing services and programs tailored for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Brisbane and Logan regions.

Their services include medical and dental clinics, child and family health services, youth services, social and emotional wellbeing programs and services, a midwifery hub, an aged care facility, and a variety of family and child support services including child protection, family wellbeing services, kindergarten programs and a child and family centre.

Mibbinbah Spirit Healing

Mibbinbah is all about celebrating the amazing diversity of culture and language in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Since 2007, they've been organizing national events for men, women, and children, including a big annual gathering.

Mibbinbah works hand-in-hand with communities to create safe and welcoming spaces where everyone can explore and enrich their identity, well-being, and skills. They use locally-defined 'proper way' practices to ensure these spaces are culturally safe and respectful.

These safe spaces are perfect for spirit healing, empowerment, celebration, and learning. Mibbinbah is dedicated to providing support and fostering a strong sense of community among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
